Kevin De Bruyne and Yaya Toure were rated by the media as Manchester City’s two best players in their 2-1 Champions League win over Sevilla.
De Bruyne struck in stoppage time to earn City a crucial three points that moved them three points clear of the Spanish side and only one behind Juventus, who were held by Borussia Monchengladbach, in Group D.
De Bruyne’s match-winning contribution saw him earn the highest average match rating from the Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, Daily Telegraph and ESPN FC, but Toure was not far behind and was actually named as City’s man of the match by the Mirror.
They were the only two to earn a rating of over 7/10, however, with Pablo Zabaleta and Wilfried Bony scoring average ratings of only 5.5/10 and Bacary Sagna fairing even worse with an average of 5.375.
Nicolas Otamendi, Eliaquim Mangala, Fernandinho and Raheem Sterling also scored average marks of less than 6/10 as City laboured to victory at the Etihad Stadium.
