Dimitri Payet has dropped another hint that he is assessing his options away from West Ham after he refused to rule out a return to France.
Payet, who has also been strongly linked with Manchester United, spent two years with Marseille before he moved to West Ham for a reported £10.7million in June 2015.
The France international was once again asked about his future and did little to cool speculation when he said he was keeping a close eye on developments at Marseille under their new ownership.
“I am not closing the door to anything,” Payet exclusively told SFR Sport.
“Marseille have a new project which seems interesting. Aside from that, we are obviously waiting to see the first few things that the new owners do, but Marseille knows how attached I am to the club.
“When I talk about it, I say the best possible things, because that is what I think, so why not.”
West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has said he is not concerned about the prospect of losing Payet any time soon, but the Frenchman’s latest quotes will not inspire any confidence to the notion that he sees his future with the Hammers.
