Manchester United are prepared to make a bid of £25million for Fulham teenager Ryan Sessegnon with Jose Mourinho ready to offload Luke Shaw, according to reports.
Shaw has only made one Premier League appearance so far this campaign – and five matches in all competitions – as rumours are rife that he could be leaving Old Trafford.
The Guardian claims that Tottenham are ready to reignite their interest in Shaw after their reported £20million plus add-ons offer was rejected in the summer.
Despite the possible interest from Spurs for Shaw, the report claims that the Red Devils will push ahead with their £25million bid for Sessegnon even if Shaw remains at the club.
United manager Mourinho is now understood to be willing to let Shaw leave with the 22-year-old struggling to command a first-team spot.
Sessegnon, Fulham’s 17-yar-old left-back, scored his first senior hat-trick this season during a thrilling 5-4 victory over Sheffield United and has grown to prominence following a number of impressive full-back performances.
Fulham are thought to be holding out for an offer of over £30million before they consider selling with Real Madrid also linked with the London-born defender.
When asked about Sessegnon’s future recently, his manager at Craven Cottage, Slavisa Jokanovic, said:
“If we want to be competitive we must keep our important players.
“All the questions are what the value of this player is, but myself, as a coach, I prefer to stay with the more important players for the competition that is ahead of us, but on the other side I can understand the business side too.
“In this moment, I am not thinking of being without him for the season, but it is not under my control.”
