Manchester United are set to miss out in their bid to bring Croatia star Ivan Perisic to Old Trafford this summer.
The 28-year-old midfielder is believed to be high on Jose Mourinho’s wanted list as he looks to revamp United’s midfield next season, but it looks as if Perisic will not be a part of that transformation.
Reports in Monday’s Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com) suggests that Inter’s owners, The Suning Group, are keen to keep the player and want him to lead their quest to get back to the summit of Italian football.
It was thought that Inter, who are still under FIFA Financial Fair-Play regulations, would be happy to part ways with the midfielder but Perisic has been one of their star performers this season, having arrived for 17m euros from Wolfsburg in 2015.
Two players who could still reportedly leave the Serie A giants this summer are Ever Banega and Marcelo Brozovic, with the club looking to balance the books by moving them on in the next transfer window.
