Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is reported to be furious after the Football Association rescinded a red card shown to Stoke’s Geoff Cameron.
Cameron was sent off for slapping the back of Claudio Yacob’s head during Stoke’s weekend defeat at West Brom and was due to serve a three-match suspension for violent conduct.
However, Stoke won an appeal which went to a three-man panel made up of a former referee, player and manager.
United feel that is unfair as when Bastian Schweinsteiger was retrospectively given a three-match ban for elbowing West Ham defender Winston Reid last month, the three-man panel was made up solely of former referees because it was an incident not seen by the match officials.
According to the Daily Mirror, United ‘feel that is unfair and inconsistent and makes a mockery of the system.’
