Manchester United and Real Madrid have a received a boost in their chase for Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe.
The French youngster has been a revelation for the Ligue 1 side this season, scoring 12 in as many starts.
The youngster’s stock continues to rise after impressing further in the Champions League, with his five goals helping Monaco to the semi-finals of the competition.
And the 18-year-old became the first player to ever in history to score in each of his first four Champions League knockout games.
His performances have attracted interest from Europe’s elite clubs, while Manchester United and Real Madrid appear to be leading the chase.
And following Monaco’s 6-3 aggregate win in their Champions League quarter-final against Dortmund, the club’s sporting director Antonio Cordon handed the interested parties a boost.
Speaking to Spanish radio station, Cadena Ser, Cordon admitted their star can be bought for a set price this summer.
“Have Real bid? The truth is they haven’t.
“I hope that Mbappe continues with us for a long time and gives us many great nights of football.
“He is a player that has had an important progression and has deserved it. He is going strong.
“Only time will tell. There are many factors to consider in order for a player to succeed.
“He is still very young. We will see what happens this summer – we expect it to be a long one.
“I hope he stays for the good of Monaco, but we know how the market works and what football is like.
“He has a clause and it’s quite a lot of money. I don’t know exactly how much, but it’s a lot.”
