Antonio Valencia and Memphis Depay failed to impress the media in Manchester United’s Champions League win over Wolfsburg at Old Trafford.
Juan Mata scored a penalty and then set up Chris Smalling for the winner as United came from behind to get off the mark in the Champions League at the second attempt.
The Spaniard was named man of the match, an average mark of 8/10/10 from the Daily Mirror, Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph and The Sun, while Smalling was rated as the Red Devils’ next best performer with 7s across the board.
Valencia, however, scored an average of only 4.5/10 after being substituted at half-time by Louis van Gaal, while Memphis Depay also failed to impress with an average score of less than 6.
David de Gea, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian also scored one mark of 5/10, though the latter got 7/10 in The Sun, whose ratings are decided by Opta statistics.
