Manchester United are plotting a shock £170m bid for Tottenham and England star Harry Kane, according to a report.
The Sun claims that Jose Mourinho is prepared to demolish the Premier League transfer record to bring the Spurs front man to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have previously been linked with a move for Kane, who has scored 11 goals in nine competitive appearances for the Lilywhites this season so far.
Spurs have always maintained their desire to hang onto they talisman, the report claims, but United are prepared to test their resolve with a huge bid.
The North Londoners are reportedly preparing a new £150,000-a-week deal to warn off the likes of United and Real Madrid.
The Spanish outlet claims Perez – well aware that Tottenham counterpart Daniel Levy is a tough negotiator – will try and get him onside early by giving him permission to sign both Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema as part of any deal. It’s claimed with Bale rated at around £90m and Benzema in the £60m mark, Real would still pay Spurs a further £30m to bring Kane to La Liga.
