Paul Pogba: Not giving up on top four

Manchester United threw away a lead late on at Goodison Park as Everton converted a late penalty to earn a 1-1 draw.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the opening goal, lobbing the onrushing Maarten Stekelenburg from outside the box, but Leighton Baines slotted home a late penalty after Marouane Fellaini’s clumsy challenge.

Ratings

David De Gea: Simply didn’t have much to do, but a confident performance nonetheless. 6

Antonio Valencia: Had a tough task to mark Kevin Mirallas but did so well. Didn’t get as far forward as usual. 7

Phil Jones: Partnered Rojo very well with an assured and solid showing. Gives a dilemma as Eric Bailly won’t walk back in to the team. 7

Phil Jones: Talks Arsenal draw and his return to action

Marcos Rojo: Perhaps should have been sent off for a reckless lunge, but aside from that was decent. 6

Matteo Darmian: Got caught out a lot and was an obvious weak point. Needed constant cover and looked lost at times. 4

Michael Carrick: Marshalled the midfield well and allowed the creative players to do their job with freedom. 6

Paul Pogba: Made quite a few errors in possession and looked generally behind the pace after a string of good showings. 4

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: Showed intelligent movement and was always a threat in possession. Surely now he has done enough to convince Jose? 7

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: Had Borussia Dortmund nightmare

Ander Herrera: Hit the woodwork with a volley on the hour mark, and pulled the strings in the United midfield. 7

Anthony Martial: Drifted in and out of the game, but his pace and directness was always a threat. Had a good battle with Seamus Coleman. 6

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Was quiet in the opening stages but grew into the game and showed his class. Wonderful finish for the goal too. 7

Substitutes

Marcus Rashford: Barely got the ball. 5

Marouanne Fellaini: Cost his team two points, simply put. 3
