Manchester United got a crucial away goal but drew their Europa League quarter final first leg clash 1-1 against Anderlecht.

Man Utd ratings

Sergio Romero: Wasn’t tested much but couldn’t do anything about the goal, which was a bullet header. 6

Antonio Valencia: Got forward plenty and drove to the byline very well. Looks a threat going forward but can be a cause for concern at the back. 6

Eric Bailly: Defended safely and confidently, knowing a yellow would result in a ban. Had one hairy moment. 6

Marcos Rojo: Looked solid alongside Bailly. Not frightened to step up and get stuck in. 7

Matteo Darmian: Continues to be fielded at left-back and looked shaky throughout. Was flattened by Dendoncker for the equaliser. 5

Michael Carrick: Looked a victim of an opponent that pressed well. Was booked and looked rushed, but completed 96% of passes. 6

Paul Pogba: Missed a chance to make it 2-0 late on, but ran all over the midfield and tried to make things happen. 6

Jese Lingard: Started well and hit the post in the first half but seemed to get crowded out and was withdrawn early. 6

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: Always a focal point of United’s creativity and despite struggling in the first half he still produced. 7

Marcus Rashford: His energy and pace was exactly what was needed against a team that covered so much ground. Often exploited space and could have bagged a couple. 8

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Looked a bit of the pace against an energetic side. However, when he got the ball he often gave it away. Played a leadership role which was evident. 6

Substitutes

Marouane Fellaini (for Rashford, 75′): Was brought on to see out the game, something United didn’t do. 5

Timothy Fosu-Mensah (for Mkhitaryan, 90′): N/A
