Manchester United’s replica shirt for the 2017/18 season is, unsurprisingly, the most expensive of the Premier League’s big six.
With the cost of watching live football often in the public eye, the added expense of owning a replica shirt is regularly a subject that causes debate.
But when it comes to the six biggest sides in the Premier League, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham and Arsenal, it is the Merseysiders who currently stand as the most cost-effective.
As sport business expert Dave Phillips assessed, the Reds will have the cheapest shirt of those clubs for both adults and children in 2016/17, with their adult shirt standing at £50 – £10 less than most of their rivals.
United also ‘boast’ the most expensive child’s replica shirt too – with a new 2017/18 kit setting fans back a staggering £50, with Liverpool’s the cheapest at £42.
