Man Utd star content despite talk of Arsenal, Barcelona interest

Anthony Martial is said to be happy at Manchester United amid rumours that Arsenal and Barcelona are interested in signing him next year.

The Frenchman has made an impressive start to the new campaign, despite starting just one game in the Premier League, scoring five and adding five assists in nine appearances.

Martial’s lack of starts has led to talk that Arsenal and Barca are ready to make a move for the 22-year-old, while the Gunners are already said to have had a bid turned down for the player.

However, M.E.N. Sport writes that the France star is understood to be ‘very content’ at United, having moved back into the city centre earlier in the year with his partner, after what had been a difficult second campaign at Old Trafford in 2016-17.

Jose Mourinho has certainly been impressed by what he seen from Martial this season. Speaking last month he said: “If you want just a word, in the happiness. He’s a happy guy, he’s working extremely well. He starts matches, he tries to do well.

“He goes from the bench, even if it is for 10 minutes like in the last match at home, he tries to enjoy and try to give something in these extra minutes. I am very pleased with his attitude overall and then it’s easier to play well.”

Martial moved to United for a fee which could reach £56million from Monaco in 2015, impressing in his first season under Louis van Gaal before a dip last year which led to talk of a potential loan move to Sevilla.

However, the frontman seems as if he has new lease of life and has become a key part of Mourinho’s attacking rotation in what has been an impressive start to the new campaign for the Red Devils.
