Manchester United will “stop at nothing” to sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid this summer after making the French forward their top target, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish newspaper El Confidencial claims United are willing to pay the £63.1million release clause in the striker’s contract – and are ready to make Atletico’s star man their main target for the summer.

The paper claims United will move for Griezmann amid doubts over two of their other main targets, Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Reports in Spain suggest Ronaldo may be ready to sign a new deal to extend his stay at the Real Madrid, while Ibrahimovic – available on a free transfer this summer when he leaves PSG – is wanted by former club Juventus.

The Daily Express also claims United officials are ‘desperate’ to land a marquee signing this summer, and with goalscoring a problem at Old Trafford this season, Griezmann is thought to be seen as the perfect antidote to their problems up front.

The Spanish report also claims United will will give in to any demands for a huge contract from the former Real Sociedad star, who was on target on Tuesday night as Atletico reached their second Champions League final in three seasons.
