Juventus head scout Javier Ribalta is joining Manchester United after leaving Turin, according to a report.
Gianluca di Marzio claims the Spaniard is heading for Old Trafford to link up with Jose Mourinho’s backroom staff after five years with the Serie A side.
Juventus have confirmed that Ribalta is leaving after “five richly successful seasons” and Di Marzio suggests Manchester United is his destination.
On their website Juventus wrote: “Scouting manager Javier Ribalta will be departing the club to take on a new professional adventure elsewhere.”
Ribalta said: “It has been a wonderful few years here. My thanks go to all involved with the club, particularly Giuseppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici for the faith they have shown in me since day one.
“I will look back on my time at Juventus with great pleasure.”

Mourinho has been extending United’s scouting network since he arrived last summer and the club appointed 50 new scouts in a matter of months last year, as well as Brazilian expert Paulo Henrique Xavier, who was appointed in March.
It is not known whether Ribalta , who is vastly experienced at elite- club level, will head up United’s scouting operation or whether he will work alongside chief scout Jim Lawlor, but he will undoubtedly strengthen United’s hand.
