Manchester United are contemplating a summer move for Marseille midfielder Lassana Diarra, according to reports in France.
Diarra spent four years in the Premier League, turning out for both Arsenal and Chelsea, but is best known for his spell at Portsmouth, where his form earned him a €20million move to Real Madrid.
Injury problems somewhat curtailed the 30-year-old’s career, although he has enjoyed somewhat of a renaissance after signing for Marseille in the summer.
And according to L’Equipe, United have been closely monitoring the France international’s performances.
The Red Devils are likely to need midfield reinforcements for next season, with Michael Carrick attracting interest from Newcastle, while reports on Thursday suggest Jose Mourinho, who signed Diarra for Chelsea, would look to sell Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata if he took over at Old Trafford.
