Jose Mourinho sent Manchester United scouts to watch Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this weekend, according to a report.
Calciomercato.com report that United officials made checks on the Lazio defender, who scored in Lazio’s 2-1 win away at Sampdoria.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, with Tuttosport last month claiming Milinkovic-Savic was being seen as a replacement for Emre Can.
Milinkovic-Savic, who is under contract until 2022, is also interesting Juventus and Lazio, and has scored five goals and grabbed two assists this season in 18 games.
Manchester City and Manchester United have been tracking the Serbian midfielder, but United have taken their interest further now, watching Savic score and assist on Sunday.
Lazio director of sport Igli Tare has recently revealed that the Serie A side rejected a €70million bid for their star last summer, but United have not been put off by that figure.
