Manchester City could net over £7million from the deal that saw Denis Suarez return to Barcelona from Villarreal in the summer window.
The Spaniard came through the ranks at the Etihad before he left for Barcelona in 2013 for around £1million. But Mundo Deportivo have revealed that the transfer also included further bonus payments.
Now that he is back with the Catalan giants must pay Manchester City €800,000 (approx £722,000) after every ten appearances he makes for Barcelona.
Mundo Deportivo added Barcelona will have to make a maximum of ten payments through this clause, which means Manchester City can make over £7million should Suarez go on to make 100 appearances.
The first payment is due shortly as the 22-year-old has made nine appearances for Barcelona so far this season, with most coming from off the substitutes’ bench.
