Manchester United: In training on Wednesday

Ashley Young and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson trained with their Manchester United team-mates on the eve of the Europa League clash with Liverpool.

Louis van Gaal’s side need to overturn a 2-0 defeat from the first leg of this last-16 tie to keep their continental hopes alive.

They look set to be boosted by the return of Young and Borthwick-Jackson at Old Trafford as the pair trained on Wednesday.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson: Set for pay rise

Young has not featured since the Premier League win at Anfield on January 17 due to a groin injury and Borthwick-Jackson has been out since sustaining a knock in last month’s FA Cup win at Shrewsbury.

Wayne Rooney, Phil Jones and Luke Shaw remain absent, while Adnan Januzaj and Timothy Fosu-Mensah trained but are ineligible for Thursday’s match.
