Manchester United have had a £52.4million bid for striker Alvaro Morata rejected by Real Madrid, according to a report in Italy.
Sky Sport Italia claim Real are looking for around £78million for the Spain forward, who scored against Colombia last night.
The report claims United goalkeeper David de Gea, whom Marca claim is now not a target for Real, was not included in the offer.
Jose Mourinho is believed to have made Morata his No.1 strike target, but if United cannot prise the 24-year-old away from the the Spanish capital then he will pursue Torino frontman Andrea Belotti.
The Spain international scored 20 goals in all competitions for Real last season, as the club clinched La Liga and the Champions League.
Morata scored 20 goals and claimed six assists in 43 games for Madrid this season as they claimed the La Liga and Champions League titles.
Madrid-born Morata came through the Real Madrid academy to make his first-team debut in December 2010, before signing for Juventus in the summer of 2014 for £17.5million.
In June 2016, Real Madrid exercised a buy-back clause to bring Morata back from Juventus for £26.2million and the forward has established himself as a key member of Zinedine Zidane’s squad
