Manchester United ratings: Experienced duo star for Mourinho’s men

Skipper Antonio Valencia led by example, while Marouane Fellaini was his effective best as Manchester United cruised to a 2-0 Europa League final win over Ajax.

Sergio Romero: Had very little to do, bar a couple of routine claims. Lobbed in stoppage time, but rescued by Valencia. 7

Antonio Valencia: Fine early run and shot. Rock-solid, dependable and the skipper led by example. 9

Chris Smalling: Dealt with Dolberg, who was hooked after an hour. Reliable. Beaten once late on. 8

Daley Blind: Never looked stretched at the back, strolled through the game. 7

Matteo Darmian: Quietly went about his business on the left flank had very little trouble all night. 7

Ander Herrera: Did plenty of dirty work in front of the back four. 7

Marouane Fellaini: Great second-half chance with his head; effective and his hold up play was faultless. 8

Juan Mata: Was a calming influence, his class showed with some neat touches. 8

Paul Pogba: Quickly on the loose ball to fire the opener. Never really got into the game. 7

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: Booked in first half; physical approach, beautifully hooked in the second. 7

Marcus Rashford. Looked isolated, threatened to run away from Sanchez, but was well-marshalled. 6
