Bordeaux youngster Adam Ounas is reportedly on the verge of joining Napoli in a blow for Jose Mourinho, who was keen on taking the player to Old Trafford.
The 20-year-old impressed last season, contributing four goals and three assists in all competitions for the French club.
Ounas is a winger, and has been likened to Eden Hazard due to his similar stature and technical skills to the Belgian.
La Gazetta dello Sport are reporting that the deal for the Algerian international will cost Napoli around €10m, and that the Red Devils sent scouts to watch the player last season.
The deal is yet to be confirmed, but Ounas announced the deal on his private Instagram account, saying: “It’s now official that my new colours are those of SSC Napoli.
“I leave for a new challenge with joy and determination, but I’m leaving a big club which gave me everything and I want to thank those people who put their faith in me from the start.
“A huge thank you to all the club personnel, the staff, my teammates as well as the FCGB.”
The player is expected to sign a five-year deal in Naples and is rumoured to have rejected offers from Roma and Zenit St Petersburg.
