Mangan wants Shrewsbury stay

The striker is eager to stay at Greenhous Meadow after helping them to promotion to League One last season.

Mangan signed a one-year deal from Forest Green last summer and wants to commit his future to Micky Mellon’s side.

“We’re discussing a deal. I think we’re just waiting on one or two things but I want to stay at the club – and if they put it on the table, I will sign it,” he said.

“I’ve got other clubs interested, but I want to stay and I’m just waiting on one or two things from Shrewsbury. I’m sure once the club gets everything in order, I will sign it.

“I’m not being greedy. I’ve earned far more in my career than what we’re talking about at Shrewsbury.”

Mangan scored 10 goals last season, including against Leicester and Chelsea in Shrewsbury’s run in the Capital One Cup and he wants to continue to work with boss Mellon.

“I love working with Micky and I have got nothing but good things to say about him,” he told the Shropshire Star.

“I have loved my time at the club. I think I have proved I can score against anyone after the goals against Leicester and Chelsea in the cup.”
