Film star Mark Wahlberg has hinted he could try and persuade Dele Alli to become a Hollywood action star once the Tottenham midfielder’s playing career is over.
Walhberg, the star of such films as Ted, Sniper and the Transformers franchise, admitted he was impressed by the England star on a recent visit to White Hart Lane and admitted he could have a future on the silver screen if he should choose.
“I think he plays until his mid-30s and then he comes to Hollywood, and we make him an action hero,” he told Tottenham on a recent trip to White Hart Lane.
“We’re going to start him out with action movies while he’s young and then we’ll put him in some romantic comedies, some drama.”
Alli on Monday signed a double-your-money £50,000 a year deal with Tottenham until the summer of 2022 and the player very much remains focused on his Tottenham career for the foreseeable future.
However, Alli was asked if he’s ever considered a singing career like Walhberg did in his early days, to which the midfielder joked: “In the shower, yeah!”
When asked how it felt to hear 80,000 Spurs fans chanting his name during Champions League matches at Wembley, Alli replied: “It makes the hairs stand up on your arms, it’s unbelievable.
“The fans like that song as well, so do I – it’s a good song, I like it!”
