Lazar Markovic has revealed he did not have a good relationship with Brendan Rodgers amid talk he could return to Liverpool in January.
Liverpool paid £20million to sign Markovic from Benfica in 2014, but the Serbia international started only 11 games in the Premier League last season and was farmed out on loan to Fenerbahce in the summer.
However, the Liverpool Echo claims new Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is an ‘admirer’ of Markovic and will consider the merits of recalling the 21-year-old in January.
The player, himself, meanwhile, has suggested his struggles in his first season at Anfield can be attributed to him being played out of position by Rodgers.
He told Portuguese newspaper A Bola: “I didn’t have a good relationship with the coach. That was a problem. I played in many positions but didn’t play in mine.”
