The 24-year old was restricted to 15 appearances last season following his arrival from Cambridge due to injury.
Marriott told the club’s official website: “I’m absolutely delighted. The club has shown a lot of patience with me through my injury, but hopefully that’s over now and I can kick-on this season and repay them.
“I don’t see why we can’t push again. We’ve got the nucleus of last year’s squad, we’ve gelled together well and we’re looking to take it into next season and get promoted.
“I’ve met the manager (Teddy Sheringham) a couple of times, he seems a laid-back character and hopefully we play some great attacking football which will benefit me and entertain the fans.”
