Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has dismissed suggestions he is unhappy at Old Trafford and will ask to leave the club this summer.

Martial, 21, joined United in 2015 in a deal that could be worth up to £58million depending on certain clauses being met by the player and club.

He scored 11 Premier League goals in his debut season, but had less of an impact last time around, managing just four goals in 25 appearances as he drifted in and out of Jose Mourinho’s first team.

Last week Arsenal were reportedly keen on the forward as an alternative to Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe, amid claims the Gunners are prepared to pay £40m for his services.

And reports on Wednesday morning suggested the player was to seek a meeting with club bosses where it was claimed he would ask to leave the club.

But in response to the reports, Martial posted a message on Twitter in which he appeared to show his commitment to the Red Devils.

Martial tweeted “Les rumeurs sont fausses”, which translates to “the rumours are false”, and added a red emoji at the end, signifying his club Manchester United.

The Frenchman is contracted to Old Trafford for a further two years with the option of a third, but it remains to be seen how he fits in to Mourinho’s plans for next season.
