The father of Kylian Mbappe has reportedly held negotiations with Monaco amid speculation that Arsenal are preparing a huge bid for the player.
The Gunners are set to bid a mammoth £120million to try and tempt the French champions to part with their prized asset this summer, while Arsene Wenger is believed to have held lengthy talks with the 18-year-old after France’s friendly win over England last month.
Real Madrid and PSG are also in the running for Mbappe’s signature, while Manchester United had been keen up until the arrival of Romelu Lukaku.
Le Journal du Dimanche claims that Monaco’s president, Dmitry Rybolovlev, has met with the teen’s father, Wilfried Mbappe, in an attempt to get a new contract signed at the Stade Louis II.
However, the player’s mother, Fayza, is said to be keen for her son to seal a lucrative switch to Real Madrid ahead of the new season.
As for the likelihood of Mbappe moving to Arsenal, a member of Mbappe’s enotourage told Le Parisien last month: “Wenger is a great man. If Kylian signs for Arsenal tomorrow, it will be for him.
“He knows how to shape young players and especially the former strikers of the French team, Thierry Henry and Nicolas Anelka.
“The Europa League is not an obstacle in itself.”
