Martin will continue to have his comeback monitored having only recently returned to action after seven weeks out with a hamstring injury.

After substitute appearances against Watford and Wigan, the 20-goal striker started the match at home to Brentford on Saturday. However, the striker was then left out of the squad for Blackpool’s visit to the iPro Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Rams travel to Huddersfield next and McClaren said: “Chris Martin felt his hamstring again on Monday in training and we are hoping that with a couple of days’ rest he will be right and available for us on Saturday.”
