Reports in Spain suggest Lionel Messi has urged Barcelona to offer Ousmane Dembele to Liverpool in an effort to bring Mohamed Salah to the Nou Camp.

According to Spanish outlet Diario GolBarca are looking at sending French flop Dembele to Anfield as part of a deal for the Egyptian flyer.

The report mentions that Messi has given his approval for such a deal, as he would rather the Liverpool star sign instead of Antoine Griezmann, who he feels is too similar a player and would overlap him too often.

The idea behind the move is that the Catalan giants would have a player already in his peak and would not have to wait for Dembele to develop.

In addition, the LaLiga leaders are also keen on the idea of ex-Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho replacing Andres Iniesta in midfield, meaning he would not play as much out wide.

Furthermore, the report claims that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is ready to take advantage of the situation by making a €100m move for Griezmann in the summer.
