Almiron ‘one for future’ for Arsenal as agent confirms approach
Arsenal did make an approach for Miguel Almiron, but the Lanus midfielder’s agent says the move is “one for the future”.
The 22-year-old has emerged as a target for the Gunners since it was revealed Jack Wilshere would be leaving the club on loan for the season.
Almiron, a Paraguay international, plies his trade in Argentina with Buenos Aires-based club Lanus, who received an approach from Arsenal, but their interest was never firmed up with an immediate bid.
The player’s agent, Daniel Campos, told Sport Witness: “Actually there was an approach, but it didn’t go any further.
“I see it more for the future.”
The agent confirmed that Almiron would relish a move to north London, adding that Lanus would expect around £8.5million for their midfielder
“That’s up to Lanus. But around €10 million,” Campos said. “No doubt he’d be delighted to play in the Premier League and for Arsenal.”
