MIilner reveals Klopp’s half-time anger
Liverpool hero James Milner revealed that Jurgen Klopp was angry at half-time in the 2-1 win at Swansea.
Milner scored his fourth penalty of the season late on at The Liberty Stadium as Klopp’s men fought back from 1-0 down to twin and make it four Premier League wins on the spin.
“It needed to be better and credit to the manager and all the boys. He was angry but kept most of it in and said what needed to be said. He got us going and second half was like we’ve been playing,” said Milner.
“First half we were not really at the races and we know they’re a good team. We gave ourselves all the work to do but showed a lot of character to come back from a goal down away from home and get three points.”
Milner was spot-on again in south Wales and as long as he keeps tucking them away he will remain satisfied.
He said: “As long as they end up in the back of the net is all I’m bothered about. It was a big moment in the game and we had chances in the second half and it was important that I took that and it went in the net and we got the three points.”
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson felt the visitors were poor in the first half before turning things around at half-time.
He said: “The first 25-30 minutes we didn’t come out the blocks quick enough and Swansea punished us from the set-piece. It was disappointing.
“But the last 10-15 of the first half we got going again and got our rhythm and came in at half-time and the manager had a few words to say and second half we came out and I thought we were brilliant.”
