Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has put a deadline on when he wants to sell the club by, according to a report.
According to the Newcastle Chronicle, Ashley decided when he put the club up for sale last month that he wanted it off his hands by Christmas.
Recent reports have suggested that businesswoman Amanda Staveley and PCP Partners Group are interested in acquiring the Magpies.
Her guest appearance at St. James’ Park back on October 1 was dismissed as nothing more than a guest appearance, however since then developments have hinted at the opposite.
The Chronicle claims that sources close to the deal have confirmed that PCP have signed non-disclosure forms.
PCP reportedly value the club at around £300million, something Newcastle are aware of, though an official offer is allegedly yet to be tabled.
The Chronicle claims that the club could release an update in early December with regards to the sale in relation to the deadline they set around the festive period.
