James Milner: Midfielder dubbed 'complete player' by Klopp

James Milner has been ruled out of Liverpool’s clash with Crystal Palace and England’s friendlies against France and Spain through injury.

Midfielder Milner had to be substituted in the Reds’ 1-0 victory over Rubin Kazan in the Europa League on Thursday after injuring his hamstring.

Manager Jurgen Klopp played down any concerns about the 29-year-old’s fitness, but it has now been confirmed he will not return until after the international break.

The former Manchester City player – who Klopp labelled the “complete player” – has started every match since the German took charge at Anfield, and has captained the side in the absence of Jordan Henderson, meaning Mamadou Sakho is expected to lead the team out against Palace.

A replacement for Milner has yet to bell called into the England squad.
