Garry Monk’s agent says “you wouldn’t say no to a club like Leeds” amid speculation the former Swansea boss has opened talks with the Yorkshire club.
Monk has quickly emerged as the hot favourite to take over at Elland Road after the Whites confirmed the departure of Steve Evans after seven months on Tuesday evening.
Sky Sports News claim Monk has now opened talks with the club – and the 37-year-old’s agent firmly expects his client to be interested in the opportunity.
“I haven’t spoken to Garry so it’s only my opinion but Leeds is a big club and when you are out of work you wouldn’t say no to a club like Leeds,” Glenn Corcoran told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“If they are interested in him I am sure he would talk to them but that’s my opinion and he might tell me tonight or tomorrow he has no interest in talking to them.
“I’m guessing but my guess would be that he would be interested in talking to them if he they were interested in him.”
