Jose Mourinho could reportedly offer Luke Shaw in a deal to sign full-back Danny Rose from Tottenham.
Rose made no secret of his his desire to be paid more and move further north towards the end of the summer transfer window.
That immediately led to rumours that Manchester United would be Rose’s most likely next destination, given their own issues in that area. Shaw has struggled with injuries ever since joining for £30m from Southampton.
The Daily Mirror report that Shaw has half a season to save his United career, with Mourinho already looking around for his next option.
They say that Mourinho is interested in Kieran Tierney and Ryan Sessegnon to replace Shaw as United’s long-term left-back, but that he could also pursue a deal which would see Shaw offered to Tottenham.
Is that a rare deal that would work for every party? United need a left-back, Rose wants a big move, Shaw would get first-team football at a big club and Mauricio Pochettino knows Shaw from Southampton. Get it done.
