Mourinho informed of Luke Shaw stipulation – report

Jose Mourinho has reportedly been told by Manchester United chiefs that he needs to give more playing time to Luke Shaw.

The Sunday Mirror says Mourinho has decided to get rid of the 21-year-old in the summer after concluding the former Southampton man is not up to the task at Old Trafford.

But United want Shaw to get more Premier League action in order for them to recoup the £30milllion they paid the Saints three years ago.

Mourinho has publicly criticised Shaw on several occasions this season and recently claimed the player “was a long way behind” his United team-mates.

Mourinho though handed Shaw 25 minutes from the bench after replaying Ashley Young, but afterwards claimed the player’s competent performance was down to him.

“I told Luke Shaw his performance was good, but it was good because he was on my side,” said Mourinho after the 1-1 draw.

The constant criticism has led to teams reportedly believing they can pick up Shaw in the summer on the cheap and that has led United to ask Mourinho to give Shaw a taste of the action.

Shaw, who has one more year to run on his contract, has only played for 620 minutes in the Premier League this season.
