Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says Anthony Martial is most definitely in his plans for next season.
Martial had been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with Inter Milan believed to be keen on taking him on loan as part of a deal to bring Ivan Perisic to the Premier League.
Mourinho though says all of his squad will be needed this term as he revealed his delight at signing three of his four summer transfer targets.
The Portuguse boss also stated he would be even happier if he could add a fourth new recruit before the end of the month – and that man is believed to be Croatia winger Perisic.
“Everybody’s in the plan – the plan is to have a good squad, not a good team, a good squad with options,” said Mourinho when asked about Martial’s future.
“And we have important players injured for a long time, they’re going to be back just by the end of the year, so our squad is not so big.”
Martial, 21, was a 60th-minute sub on Wednesday night in Dublin in the 2-1 win over Sampdoria and in fact laid on Juan Mata’s winner.
“We need options and different players. Lukaku, Martial and Rashford are all different and we need everybody, and it’s going to be good.
“It’s going to be fun to choose the team for every match, according to the plan, the opponent, so the squad is good.” Mourinho stated.
Martial has been impressive in pre-season after a season on turmoil last campaign which merited just four Premier League goals and 18 starts.
