Manchester United have been handed a blow as one of their reported targets has poured cold water on speculation linking him with an exit.

Monaco midfielder Fabinho was linked with a move to Old Trafford on Tuesday.

A report from Don Balon claimed that United were plotting a fresh bid to sign the Brazilian and could launch a £40m move to bring him to the Premier League in January.

However, the former Real Madrid man has cooled speculation by insisting he has no interest in leaving this month.

“Right now I have no thoughts about leaving,” Fabinho told O Globoesporte.

“It would take an incredible offer for the club to consider selling me and it would not be easy, but the summer is a possibility.

“Good options may come up for me, as they did last summer, and that will be the time to talk through my options with all the parties involved.”

The 24-year-old has also been linked with a move to both Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid. Last month, Fabinho did confirm that a move to Atletico was possible.

“It’s a possibility, but no one from Atletico has spoken to me or my agent,” Fabinho told L’Equipe.

“We’re talking about the summer transfer window, but a lot of things can happen between now and then.

“I’ll have to show that I have the level to play in teams like that. We’ll talk about that in May.
