Mourinho reveals extent of Ander Herrera injury blow

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says Ander Herrera faces at least a “few weeks” on the sidelines.

The Spain international limped off early in Wednesday’s 0-0 Champions League last-16 first leg at Sevilla, and was replaced by Paul Pogba.

Mourinho said Herrera suffered a “big injury” and confirmed the midfielder could be out until April.

“Ander is out. I don’t know the final diagnosis, but I know that he will be out for a few weeks,” Mourinho said.

“I don’t know how to say ‘few’ – two, three, four, five or six, I don’t know but a few weeks for sure.

And coming back from injuries, nobody else.”

Chelsea come to town this weekend for a crunch match between Mourinho and his former club, whose current head coach Antonio Conte he shared some harsh words with last month.

“I don’t want to speak about it,” Mourinho said on Friday.

“I told you before I’m not going to speak about it. Not at all.

“That’s not the point. Very good manager, fantastic team and that’s what is important for me. Just that.”
