Jose Mourinho: Hopes to bring success to Man Utd

Jose Mourinho has refused to answer questions on fresh claims he is being lined up to replace Louis van Gaal as Manchester United at the end of the season.

Following confirmation that Pep Guardiola will be replacing Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season, Sky News asked Mourinho if he had extra desire to take over at Old Trafford following the appointment of his great rival.

But the Portuguese coach, who has been out of work since leaving Chelsea in December, merely shook his head in disgust after being asked the question.

Reports in Tuesday’s Daily Star suggest United have turned their ‘100% focus’ to Mourinho following the official confirmation that Guardiola will move to City from Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

Mourinho is now the odds-on favourite to replace Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford and claims that the former Chelsea boss has ‘written a love letter to United’ have only served to further heighten the speculation.

Van Gaal has found himself under the media spotlight during his time at United, so much so that the Dutchman admitted even he isn’t sure what sort of reception United fans will give him ahead of Tuesday night’s clash with Stoke.
