Harry Redknapp claims Manchester United’s expected appointment of Jose Mourinho is a “done deal” and has branded Louis van Gaal’s spell in charge a “disaster”.
Since Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea in December, various reports have suggested ‘the Special One’ is a certainty to replace Van Gaal at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman is under huge pressure at United after months of turgid displays have left supporters increasingly angry.
“It hasn’t worked out at all for Louis van Gaal at Manchester United. It’s been a disaster for him – no doubt about that,” Redknapp told Sirius XM.
“From the people I know who are in the know, Jose Mourinho to United is a done deal.”
On Tuesday former Red Devils defender Paul Parker said he does not believe Mourinho is the right man for the job, arguing that Tim Sherwood would be a better option.
