Jose Mourinho: FA ban

Jose Mourinho has quickly turned his attention to Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Dynamo Kiev following Chelsea’s latest defeat on Saturday.

Chelsea took the lead but eventually lost 3-1 to Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, a result which saw them remain in 15th place in the Premier League with six defeats from 11 games.

The newspapers are at odds over how much longer Mourinho will stay in charge, but the Portuguese expressed his confidence after the Liverpool game that it would not be his final game.

He is now looking ahead to the crucial Dynamo encounter, with Chelsea third behind Porto and Dynamo in Group G and in need of a win to kick-start their Champions League campaign.

“It’s a big game. It’s a game that we cannot lose,” Mourinho told Chelsea TV.

“We still can finish first, second or third and obviously we want to finish in the top two.”

On the Liverpool game, Mourinho was happy with the performance of his players but was unhappy that the half-time whistle had not been blown before Coutinho’s equaliser and also hinted that he felt Lucas should have been shown a second yellow card.

“What I see from my players was good until a moment where they felt it was impossible to do better,” Mourinho said.

“The fight goes on but sometimes there are fights that are very impossible to win.

“I can play against any team, against any manager, win, lose but more than this.”
