Jose Mourinho has discussed Marouane Fellaini’s dilemma, with the Manchester United boss suggesting the midfielder should sign the contract on offer quickly.
Fellaini is out of contract in the summer and Mourinho has spoken of his desire to retain the Belgian star beyond the end of the season.
The 30-year-old has been sidelined through injury recently and his return to the side on Wednesday night at Tottenham lasted just eight minutes before he felt another problem with his knee.
Mourinho suggested on Friday that Fellaini might not want to waste much more time before deciding his future.
“I told him yesterday ‘sign the contract and shut up’,” Mourinho said with a laugh.
“I told him ‘don’t gamble too much, sign the contract before you know the extent of the injury’.”
