Radja Nainggolan has refused to rule out a move to Chelsea after claiming new boss Antonio Conte is desperate to lure him to Stamford Bridge.
The Belgium midfielder is believed to be Conte’s top midfield target and the Blues boss has made an approach for the Roma man, with some reports claiming Chelsea have lodged two unsuccessful bids for the player.
“I keep on telling you that Nainggolan is going nowhere,” he said, but the rumours, fuelled by Nainggolan, who continues to speak about Chelsea’s interest.
“We’ve talked. He (Conte) already wanted me at Juve, but I told him that I would never go there,” said Nainggolan.
“Now he’s trying to convince me to go to Chelsea and we’ve had a chat about it. He’s an interesting person. We’ll see. I don’t know.
“We’ll just have to see what happens. Certainly Conte’s a good coach -you could see that at Juve, where he won, and also at Siena.
“He’s told me what he expects of me and what type of a player I could be for him.
“It’s important to know that a coach wants you so much. I’m not a player who scores 20 goals a season and provides 20 assists, but he appreciates the silent work that I do.”
Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard have both been trying to convince their Belgium team-mate Nainggolan to join them in west London after the conclusion of the tournament.
“Courtois and Hazard are trying to convince me to go to London with them. I know they’re a big club, but I’m not going to get obsessed thinking about it.
“It’s been 10 years that I’ve been linked with a new club each year and yet I’ve only played for three clubs,” he added.
The Evening Standard reports that Chelsea have had two bids rejected, one worth £23million and the second earlier this week of £25million plus £2.4million in add-ons. Roma are believed to want £35million and even if Chelsea match that valuation, they may have to wait while Roma find a replacement.
The Serie A side are believed to be holding out for £35million for the 28-year-old.
