Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly has admitted he ‘could soon hold talks with Chelsea’ amid reports the Blues have had an £19.2million bid rejected.
The Blues are huge fans of the 24-year-old centre-back and the Senegalese star is reportedly one of Antonio Conte’s top targets.
But with Napoli valuing the player at £30million, they are already thought to have rejected Chelsea’s offer.
The club are upset with Koulibaly for claiming recently that he would be willing to speak to the Blues.
The player said: “I have not talked to [Antonio Conte] but that may be soon.
“The game in England could be suitable for me but I like Italy. I do not press for a transfer but I hope to sign a renewal with Napoli or we proceed to other solutions.”
Koulibaly impressed for Napoli last season, making 42 appearances in all competitions.
Incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has made strengthening the club’s defence a priority after they missed out on the Champions League.
