Alex Neil refutes Garry Monk’s claims that Swansea were hard done by in the defeat at Norwich – insisting his side fully deserved their win.

Jonny Howson struck to earn Norwich a 1-0 win over Swansea at Carrow Road, ending the Canaries’ run of six matches without a victory.

However Monk said afterwards that the Swans had “almost total control” of the match and were “doing just what we wanted” – a claim Neil strongly disagrees with.

“We created the best chances in the game and kept it tight at the back. It certainly wasn’t one of our best performances of the season, but it was up there in terms of defensive organisation.

“I thought we were the most threatening team in the game, no question – we could have scored more.

“I’m delighted for the win and really delighted for the players. Our confidence has never been in question, but we needed to ensure we got points on the board.

“Next week no-one will talk about the nature of the performance, just that we won the game.”
