New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is so desperate to land Alvaro Morata he has been calling him every day, according to reports.
An exclusive report from Calciomercato claims the Italy boss, who will take the reins at Chelsea after the tournament, is a big admirer of Morata and is keen to get him on board at Stamford Bridge.
Conte “has been calling him every day, just as he did when he was trying to convince the Spaniard to join Juventus” the report claims.
However, while Morata was scoring twice for Spain in last night’s 3-0 humbling of Turkey, it’s claimed his agent was talking to Real Madrid about their buy-back agreement in the striker’s contract.
Morata, 23, signed for Juventus from Real Madrid for £15million in 2014 on a five-year contract, but Real inserted a buy-back clause in the deal and they have until July 15 to exercise that clause.
Juve have offered the striker a new contract to stay in Turin, but Real are set to buy him back before immediately selling him for a fee of around 60million euros.
PSG are also believed to be interest in the player, who has scored 27 goals in 93 appearances for the Serie A giants, albeit only 48 of those appearances came in the form of starts.
Earlier this month Morata expressed his interest in signing for a Premier League club, saying: “There are some offers from England that are tempting, not only because of the contract. I think my characteristics mean the Premier League would be a great destination.”
Chelsea reportedly open talks over a deal to sign Alvaro Morata earlier this month, while Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Spain forward, but much will depend on whether they land Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
