Benitez reveals injury setback for Newcastle attacker

Newcastle loanee Islam Slimani has been ruled out of the Magpies Premier League trip to Bournemouth, after suffering a setback in training.

The Leicester striker, who arrived at St James’ Park with a thigh problem, is yet to make his Magpies debut and is now facing another two weeks on the sidelines.

Talking to, Manager Rafael Benitez said of the injury: “Slimani had a set back.

“He will not be available and will be (out for) at least a couple of weeks. He had an injury when he came, a set back in training and we will have to deal with that.”

Rafa otherwise has no fresh injury problems with only full-back Jesus Gamez missing with an ankle injury.
