Aleksandar Mitrovic’s agent says the Newcastle striker will decide his future in the summer amid reported interest from Napoli.
The Serbia striker netted nine goals during his first season with the Magpies, which ended in relegation from the Premier League.
Mitrovic endured a frustrating start to the current campaign but the 22-year-old has found some form of late, having scored four goals in the Magpies’ last three games.
Napoli are said to have been keeping on eye on the former Anderlecht striker, but the player’s agent, Nenad Jestrovic, insists there is little chance of Mitrovic departing St James’ Park until at least next summer.
Jestrovic told CalcioNapoli24: “It is very unlikely at the moment.
“The only certainty right now is that he will end the season at Newcastle United.”
When pushed over Mitrovic’s long-term future, Jestrovic insisted he had not heard from Napoli
“Absolutely not. In the past, there was some contact, but for now it’s out of the question.
“He will spend another six months in England, then well decide what to do with his future.”
