Newcastle striker Ayoze Perez has revealed that Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona have enquired after him.
The Toon hitman was not at his most prolific as Newcastle won promotion back to the Premier League but still impressed with nine goals and six assists.
The 23-year-old, who has been consistently linked with a switch to Tottenham over the last two years, has confirmed that plenty of clubs have shown an interest in him, including another La Liga side in Atletico Madrid.
When originally asked by Sports Radio show El Larguero if Atletico were keen on him, he replied: “The best [teams to pursue him] wore a blaugrana shirt. There was some blaugrana [interest], some white [Real Madrid].
“I had the most interest from England, but one needs to work for these things to happen”.
The former Tenerife star joined the Magpies for just €2million in 2014 and has scored 19 goals in 103 league appearances for Rafael Benitez’s men.
